The Lead AV Engineer is responsible for defining, governing, and evolving enterprise audiovisual (AV) engineering standards across meeting spaces, broadcast environments, and collaboration platforms. This role serves as the technical authority for room design, acoustics, AV infrastructure, and lifecycle strategy—ensuring scalable, reliable, and high-quality user experiences across Zoom Rooms, Microsoft Teams Rooms Pro, Neat, and telephony-integrated environments.

Key Responsibilities

Meeting Room Design Standards & Engineering

Define and maintain enterprise meeting room design standards, including room profiles, layouts, and technology configurations

Establish and govern standard build matrices across room types (huddle, conference, executive, training, broadcast)

Lead design reviews for new builds, renovations, and complex AV deployments

Ensure consistent experience across collaboration platforms and standardized room profiles

Acoustical Standards & Environmental Requirements

Own acoustical standards including reverberation control, noise isolation, and speech intelligibility targets

Define requirements for lighting, room geometry, and environmental controls to support high-quality AV performance

Partner with real estate, construction, and workplace teams to embed AV requirements early in design and build processes

AV Equipment Portfolio & Platform Strategy

Own the approved AV hardware portfolio (cameras, microphones, DSPs, displays, control systems, peripherals)

Drive standardization and certification across Neat, Zoom Rooms, Teams Rooms Pro, and integrated AV systems

Establish platform standards for QSC ecosystems, DSP architectures, and control system frameworks

Evaluate emerging technologies and drive roadmap evolution across AV hardware and software platforms

Lifecycle Management

Define and manage hardware and platform lifecycle strategy including refresh cycles, EOL/EOS planning, and risk-based replacement

Maintain portfolio health, standardization targets, asset governance, and capacity planning inputs

Partner with finance and procurement to align lifecycle plans with budget and long-range strategy

Release Management & Change Control

Establish and govern AV release management processes (firmware, platform updates, configurations, integrations)

Validate compatibility across platforms, devices, and room configurations; prevent regressions and service interruptions

Partner with operations to ensure controlled deployment and production stability

Broadcast Technologies & High-Production AV

Lead architecture and standards for broadcast, streaming, and high-production AV environments (studios, auditoriums, executive broadcasts)

Define requirements for cameras, audio processing, lighting, switching, and encoding technologies

Ensure systems support enterprise-scale live events and executive communications

Vendor Relationships & Management

Serve as engineering lead for vendor and integrator relationships, ensuring alignment to enterprise standards and outcomes

Define technical requirements within RFPs and SOWs; validate vendor designs and enforce adherence to standards

Establish strong vendor management practices including performance tracking, SLA governance, and continuous improvement

Drive commercial and technical accountability across AV vendors to optimize cost, quality, and delivery execution

Telephony & Collaboration Integration

Align AV room strategy with enterprise telephony and meeting platforms

Ensure seamless integration across Zoom Phone, Teams Phone, and room systems

Drive consistency in user experience and interoperability across platforms

Required Qualifications

8+ years of experience in AV engineering, collaboration technologies, or enterprise AV design

Deep expertise in AV system design including audio, video, DSP, and control systems

Experience with Zoom Rooms, Microsoft Teams Rooms Pro, and Neat devices in enterprise environments

Strong understanding of acoustics, environmental design, and meeting room performance optimization

Experience with QSC platforms, DSP architecture, and control system integration

Familiarity with ACPR standards and enterprise AV design frameworks

Experience leveraging AI-based capabilities for AV monitoring, automation, or enhanced meeting experiences

Strong vendor management and stakeholder alignment skills in enterprise environments

Preferred

Experience designing broadcast or production-grade AV environments

Industry certifications (CTS, CTS-D, or equivalent)

Experience leading AV lifecycle, standards governance, and enterprise-scale deployments

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.

$117,600 - $161,700 per year

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
