U.S. Bank is seeking a Software Engineer who will contribute toward the success of our technology initiatives in our digital transformation journey.

This position will be responsible for the analysis, design, testing, development and maintenance of best-in-class software experiences. The candidate is a self-motivated individual who can collaborate with a team and across the organization. The candidate takes responsibility of the software artifacts produced adhering to U.S. Bank standards to ensure minimal impact to the customer experience. The candidate will be adept with the agile software development lifecycle and DevOps principles.

U.S. Bank is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Java) to drive the design, development, and governance of enterprise‑scale Salesforce solutions. This role will lead complex initiatives, ensure alignment with enterprise architecture standards, and partner cross‑functionally to deliver secure, scalable, and high‑performing CRM capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and support scalable cloud-native applications and services using Java (Spring Boot), microservices architecture, and modern web technologies.

Build, enhance, and maintain responsive user interfaces using React and reusable component frameworks.

Design, develop, and integrate RESTful APIs to support enterprise applications and system integrations.

Lead end-to-end solution design activities, ensuring alignment with architectural standards, security requirements, and business objectives.

Support CI/CD pipelines, containerized deployments, and DevOps practices to improve software delivery and operational efficiency.

Monitor application health, troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement performance improvements.

Apply enterprise security standards, observability practices, and operational controls across application and platform solutions.

Support Salesforce platform architecture, integrations, release management, and governance activities.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, scalable, and maintainable technology solutions.

Provide technical leadership, architectural guidance, and best practices to engineering teams while driving continuous improvement and innovation.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience

Five to six years of relevant experience

Required Skills / Experience:

Experience building applications using Java (Spring Boot, microservices architecture) or prior .NET development background

Expertise in designing and consuming RESTful APIs and building cloud-native, scalable services

Hands-on experience with modern UI frameworks (React) and building responsive, reusable components

Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (e.g., Kubernetes), and DevOps practices

Understanding of observability, monitoring, and enterprise security frameworks

Salesforce certifications (e.g., Application Architect, System Architect, or Technical Architect) strongly preferred

Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Salesforce release management

Demonstrated ability to lead end-to-end solution design and architectural governance

Strong problem-solving skills with experience analyzing production issues and improving system performance

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. Pay Range: $119,765.00 - $140,900.00
