Position Overview

UHS is seeking an Ambulatory Application Analyst III to support and optimize clinical and business applications that are critical to the delivery of high-quality patient care and operational excellence. The Applications Analyst III is accountable for production support, maintaining the high availability and performance of supported systems, leading and participating in technology projects, driving process improvement initiatives, ensuring quality assurance standards, and promoting exceptional customer satisfaction. This role serves as a key technical resource, collaborating with stakeholders to identify opportunities for system enhancements, workflow optimization, and operational efficiency.

In addition, the Ambulatory Application Analyst III will evaluate departmental policies and procedures, recommend innovative solutions, and provide strategic guidance to leadership to support organizational goals. There is more than one location associated with this position. This is either because there are multiple openings at different sites, or the successful candidate will be required to float across multiple UHS facilities. Job Responsibilities

Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for multiple ambulatory and EHR applications, providing advanced support, troubleshooting, and workflow guidance across integrated systems and modules.

Independently manage complex support tickets, enhancements, and project workstreams, ensuring timely resolution and successful delivery across multiple Epic modules and related applications.

Analyze, interpret, and present complex technical and operational information to leadership, stakeholders, and end users, translating system functionality into clear, actionable recommendations.

Lead cross-functional problem-solving efforts involving multiple Information Services pillars, functional areas, security considerations, and hardware dependencies to achieve effective solutions.

Collaborate with Build and Planning teams to scope projects, evaluate enhancement requests, define requirements, and recommend system design solutions that align with organizational objectives.

Develop and promote best practices for integrated application design, configuration, and support, ensuring consistency, scalability, and adherence to regulatory and organizational standards.

Provide strategic consultation and solution recommendations by evaluating multiple options, identifying risks and benefits, and presenting well-supported recommendations to stakeholders.

Create business cases, decision documents, and executive-level presentations to support complex initiatives and obtain approval for system enhancements, projects, and operational changes.

Facilitate patient safety escalations and resolve highly complex application, security, and workflow issues, ensuring system reliability and minimizing operational impact.

Lead implementation and transition activities for new builds, upgrades, and projects, including coordination of testing, change control processes, end-user communication, and post-deployment support.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives by tracking performance metrics, identifying trends, establishing workgroups, and implementing process improvements that enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Support organizational and industry leadership efforts by participating in governance activities, developing training and project materials, contributing to department-wide initiatives, and representing UHS at professional forums, conferences, and user groups when appropriate.

Position Qualifications

Minimum Required:

High School Diploma or equivalent

Three (3) years of clinical, Healthcare operations, revenue cycle, information technology or healthcare information technology experience.

Epic Experience required.

Epic Positions: Current Epic certification

Preferred:

Bachelor's Degree in a related field (information technology or clinical/healthcare fields)

Epic Positions: Certification in one or more Epic applications.

Project Management Institute (PMI) Certification or equivalent certification.
