Role Summary
Senior Lead Cyber Security Engineer responsible for leading the design, implementation, and management of enterprise Data Loss Prevention (DLP) capabilities within the Zscaler Security Service Edge (SSE) platform. This role drives data protection initiatives across web, cloud, SaaS, private applications, and data center environments through Zscaler DLP, CASB, SSL Inspection and Microsoft Purview integrations.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the implementation and administration of Zscaler DLP, CASB and SSE controls.
Design and maintain enterprise DLP policies, EDM/IDM profiles, and data protection controls.
Lead SSL Inspection strategy, onboarding, exception governance, and troubleshooting.
Integrate Zscaler with Microsoft Purview, ServiceNow, Sentinel, and other security platforms.
Develop automation solutions using Zscaler APIs, Power Automate, Logic Apps.
Partner with application, infrastructure, and cloud teams to enable secure business operations.
Lead DLP onboarding, policy tuning, incident response, and operational support activities.
Major Duties
Design and implement scalable Zscaler data protection architectures.
Lead security engineering efforts from design through deployment and support.
Drive automation, operational efficiency, and process improvements.
Collaborate with Security Architecture, Risk, and Engineering teams.
Ensure security, scalability, compliance, and performance objectives are met.
Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and strategic guidance.
Required Skills & Expertise
Deep expertise in Zscaler DLP, CASB and SSL Inspection.
Strong understanding of DLP concepts, data classification, EDM/IDM, and information protection.
Experience with Microsoft Purview DLP and Information Protection.
Experience with REST APIs, JSON, automation, and platform integrations.
Hands-on experience with PowerShell, Python, Power Automate, and Logic Apps.
Experience in integrating security platforms with ServiceNow, Sentinel, Splunk, and SIEM/SOAR solutions.
Strong knowledge of cloud security, Zero Trust, SaaS security, and data protection frameworks.
Experience & Qualifications
9+ years of Cyber Security Engineering experience.
5+ years of Data Protection/DLP experience.
3+ years of hands-on Zscaler experience.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
Preferred certifications:
CISSP, CISM, CCSP
Zscaler Certified Administrator (ZCCA)
Zscaler Certified Architect (ZCA)
Salary Range:
$114,500 - 194,700 USD
Salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts and disability), paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits. Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
