About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Software Engineer (LSE) to serve as a key technical contributor for Customer Account Servicing (CAS) team. This role is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and deploying software solutions, while actively participating in all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), including requirements analysis, solution design, development, testing, and architectural planning. The LSE will leverage modern technologies, including Generative AI and integration tools, to deliver scalable and innovative solutions.

Success in this role requires the ability to deliver high-quality solutions aligned with business requirements in a timely manner, without compromising technical excellence. The position demands strong independent execution, as well as close collaboration with business stakeholders and technology partners to ensure alignment with enterprise standards, best practices, and strategic objectives.

In this role, you will:

Lead complex technology initiatives including those that are companywide with broad impact

Act as a key participant in developing standards and companywide best practices for engineering complex and large scale technology solutions for technology engineering disciplines

Design and develop scalable, resilient microservices using Java, Spring, and Spring Boot

Build and enhance responsive, high-performing UI applications using React and TypeScript

Review and analyze complex, large-scale technology solutions for tactical and strategic business objectives, enterprise technological environment, and technical challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors, including intangibles or unprecedented technical factors

Make decisions in developing standard and companywide best practices for engineering and technology solutions requiring understanding of industry best practices and new technologies, influencing and leading technology team to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives

Collaborate and consult with key technical experts, senior technology team, and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues and achieve goals

Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering engineering excellence and best practices

Required Qualifications:

5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

5+ years of experience with Java and Spring/Spring Boot for building scalable microservices

5+ years of experience with modern frontend frameworks such as React and TypeScript

3+ years of experience with API design and development (RESTful and GraphQL)

2+ years of experience with MongoDB or other NoSQL databases

2+ years of experience with version control systems such as Git

2+ years experience with event streaming platforms such as Kafka

2+ years experience with caching technologies such as Redis

1+ year of experience with AI/ML concepts, including:Large Language Models (LLMs), prompt engineering, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)

Desired Qualifications:

Deep expertise in microservices architecture and distributed systems design

Strong understanding of frontend-backend integration patterns using API-driven architecture

Experience working in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP)

Knowledge of observability practices, including logging, monitoring, and tracing

Experience with DevOps and CI/CD tools such as:

Jenkins, Harness, Artifactory, SonarQube, Checkmarx, Black Duck, Splunk

Job Expectations:

Ability to work outside of normal business hours as needed

Ability to travel up to 5% of the time
